The house is situated on elevated land on the edge of the Gavarres protected area with uninterrupted views of the wooded hills up to Puig d’Arques.  From the terrace at the top of the Torre, you can see the familiar Islas Medes on one side and the far Pyrenees on the other. The house feels very secluded and part of nature, yet is only a 7 minute drive from the shops and restaurants of La Bisbal d’Emporda (the ceramics capital of Catalunya). Other beautiful medieval villages such as Monells, Madremanya and Peretallada are only a short drive away and the closest beaches are about 25 minutes by car.
The house is perfect for both nature lovers and as a base for all sorts of activities - the garden leads straight onto endless hiking and cycling paths in the Gavarres, and the house also has use of a full sized tennis courts in the grounds. It was built in the Modernista style in about 1910 by the owner of the Masia for his daughter as a wedding present but fell into disrepair at the end of the last century.  It was carefully renovated from a ruin about 20 years ago, with a new kitchen and modern bathrooms installed last year.  The living room benefits from a beautiful and large curved window looking out onto the gardens and the original decorative floor tiling and vaulted ceilings have all been carefully preserved in the renovation.  From the light-filled kitchen and breakfast room there are stairs up to the top of the tower from which you can enjoy spectacular 360 degree views of the whole Emporda region and beyond.  The tower terrace has spectacular views of both sunrise over the sea and sunset over the mountains. The house is furnished with carefully chosen antique pieces, from Modernista and Art Deco to Mid Century Modern, supplemented by decorative objects created by local artisans.
