The house rests on a small elevation of the land, on the outskirts of one of the most characteristic and lively towns of the Baix Empordà, a place with mediterranean aromas surrounded by holm oaks and pines, between farm fields and olive trees. Designed by a renowned architecture studio, it has been awarded several times for its contemporary architecture, design and sustainability. With simple lines and using native construction techniques and materials such as ceramics and stones from the River Ter (river that gives the house its name), it is a house that aims to respect and blend in with the Mediterranean lifestyle. Thanks to the solar panel system and geothermal air conditioning, it is an eco-friendly house with very low impact. The interiors are divided into two volumes that have different spaces, distributed forming an L-shape and clearly differentiated. The first is made up of the kitchen, the dining room and the living room. This is a meeting area and the public space of the house, the rest consists of the bedrooms and bathrooms. On the upper floor there is a traditional Catalan "volta", a type of vault of centenary construction, abundant in farmhouses and town houses in the area. This vault houses the master bedroom, which also provides the best views. Casa Ter is a multipurpose home, capable of being lived in different ways depending on the needs of the guests and the time of year. The house can be completely closed or opened through the large folding windows, creating heterogeneous spaces between the interior and exterior and allowing a very special connection with the surrounding nature. The exterior has various spaces, such as the raft-type pool or a summer dining room in the shade of the holm oaks, all surrounded by a large wild garden ideal for the exploration by our guests.
